Laurus Cheadle Hulme students left audiences amazed after taking to the stage to present School of Rock, The Musical. The production took place on three successive nights after their production of Aladdin Jr. was cancelled and the performing arts department saw two years of blackout due to Covid restrictions.
The show featured a range of young and senior students who all have different experience in theatre from inside and outside of school, with several students playing their first principal role.
The production was a spoken and singing performance which showcased the talent in the Performing Arts and Music departments with a live rock band including staff and students.
The cast took us through the story of a desperate musician who posed as a teacher and convinced talented student’s from a private school to compete in ‘Battle of the Bands’.
Congratulations to all the students who were involved and thank you to the production staff for making the school’s debut performance one we will never forget!
