Over the past few weeks, staff and students at Laurus Cheadle Hulme have been busy gathering items for The Rucksack Project, organised by The Wellspring.
We were delighted to donate a large number of rucksacks filled with vital items such as sleeping bags, jumpers and socks to be distributed to people who are homeless or sleeping rough around Stockport this winter.
The Wellspring is a local charity dedicated to supporting homeless and disadvantaged people and one we are proud to support.
It has been incredibly heart-warming to see the whole school community pulling together to help those who are less fortunate than themselves and everyone has done a terrific job.
Mr Gardner, Head of Drama, who organised and co-ordinated the school’s donations to The Rucksack Project said:
“A huge thanks to everyone who has been able to donate. The involvement from students, staff, parents & carers has been phenomenal and we have at least doubled our donations from last time. I’m so proud of everyone at LCH who together have gone above and beyond in providing items that many of us take for granted but are so essential to those in need.”
